Hey, I’m Brittain! The designer behind Serf & Sea, and someone who’s always found joy in creating things that connect with people.
I hold a B.A. in Communication Studies from UNC Wilmington, where I learned how storytelling, visuals, and voice come together to shape meaning and impact. After college, I blended that passion with design and launched Current Mood Apparel- my own small apparel business focused on beachy, good vibes inspired by mental wellness, coastal living, and my movement disorder. Running this shop has enhanced a variety of my skills, everything from digital design to e-commerce, but most importantly, it gave me a clear creative voice.
Since then, I’ve expanded into freelance design and custom projects. Including branding and t-shirt work for small businesses, family reunion shirts, and thoughtful custom gifts. I love designing for real people and real moments, whether it’s a custom tote bag for a new brand or a shirt that makes someone chuckle (or both).
My past work has also taken some unexpected turns, from being featured in a Papa John’s commercial and working with their branding team, to going viral on TikTok and even making an appearance in a short film. Every experience has shaped how I approach design: with creativity and intention.
Whether you’re launching a business, planning a family trip, needing help with your classroom, or looking for a design that feels a little more you: I’m here to help bring your idea to life in a way that’s clear and bold.
